General information only

Desert Dial explains phone calls, area codes and common unwanted-call situations in Las Vegas and Nevada. It helps you understand a situation and does not decide it for you. Nothing here is legal, financial or professional advice, and reading it creates no relationship between you and the site or its editor.

Talk to someone else for disputes

If you have a specific dispute, a contract question or a charge you want reversed, speak to your carrier, your card issuer, a consumer protection office or a licensed attorney.

Accuracy has limits

We work from official sources and date every page, but rules, menus, phone numbers and carrier features change. The number checker reads patterns in the North American numbering plan and a list of area codes, and that list can lag behind new assignments. A result tells you about a code, not about a person. Use it as a clue, not proof. We don't promise that any page is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose.

No affiliation

We are an independent site, with no connection to any phone carrier, casino, hotel, resort, timeshare company, people-search service or government agency. Company and agency names appear only as sources or examples.

Labels belong to others

Labels such as Scam Likely, Spam Risk or Potential Spam are applied by carriers and apps. We don't control them, and we can't tell you why a number received one.

External links

Our guides link to official pages such as the FTC, the FCC, the Do Not Call Registry and the support pages of phone makers. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or changes.

Do Not Sell or Share

We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of. California residents can find their rights in our privacy policy, or write to [email protected].
