Privacy policy

Last updated

Last updated: October 6, 2026. This policy explains what Desert Dial (cellphonevegasinfo.com, "we," "us") does and does not collect when you use the site. The site is simple, so the policy is short, and the table below is the whole story in one place.

What we handle, why and for how long

Everything Desert Dial touches when you visit
What Why How long we keep it
Web server log entries: your IP address, browser user-agent, the address requested and the time To keep the site working and to spot abuse About a week. Logs rotate after roughly five to seven days and are then deleted
A number you type into the checker To show area code facts for that request Not written to a database. Because the number is part of the requested address, it also appears in the server log and lasts as long as the log does
Contact form messages: name, email, topic, message, time sent and a hashed version of your IP address To answer you, and to limit abuse Stored in a file and deleted twelve months after we reply, or sooner if you ask
Cookies We set none Nothing to keep
Analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, third-party scripts and fonts We use none. Everything you see is served from our own server Nothing to keep
Accounts The site doesn't ask you to create one or to give a name or email just to read or use the checker Nothing to keep

What the logs can and can't show

Like almost every website, our web server writes standard log entries. Each one can include the address that was requested, which contains the number you typed if you used the checker. We use the logs to keep the site running and to notice abuse. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors, and we do not use them to look up who owns a number.

What we do not do

We don't sell your personal information. We don't share it with advertisers, data brokers or other third parties. We don't combine information about you from other sources. We email you only to answer a message you sent us.

Children

The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Do Not Sell or Share, and your California rights

We don't sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information a business holds about you, to ask for deletion, to ask for corrections and to opt out of sale or sharing. We apply these rights to anyone who asks, wherever they live. To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request." Tell us what you're asking for and how we can find your information, for instance the approximate time of your visit, since our logs don't identify people by name. We may need to confirm that a request really comes from you, and we won't penalize you for making one.

Because the logs rotate after about a week, a request about older web logs may already be answered by the fact that those entries are gone. Contact-form messages can be found by your email address and deleted on request.

Security

Keeping the amount of data small is the strongest protection we have. Even so, no system on the internet is perfectly secure, and we can't promise that data will never be exposed. Please don't send card numbers, passwords or government identification through the contact form.

Links and changes

Our pages link to outside sites such as the FTC, the FCC and the Do Not Call Registry. Those sites have their own policies and we don't control them. If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and we'll describe material changes in plain terms.

Questions

For anything about this policy or your information, write to [email protected] or use the contact page. The about page, the terms and the disclaimer cover the rest of the site's fine print.
